Six Foot Track Marathon

The Six Foot Track is a 45km trail stretching across the Blue Mountains from the Explorer's Marked Tree, near Katoomba, to the Jenolan Caves.
The marathon started in 1984 and follows the length of the entire trail.
The race is a not-for-profit event, and all profits are donated to the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service who crew the aid stations on race day.
Each year the event has over 1,100 entrants completing the course on race day.

The 2025 Race is Cancelled

It is with immense regret and disappointment that the organising committee for the Six Foot Track Marathon advise that the 2025 race scheduled for Saturday 8th March 2025 will not be able to proceed as planned.

This is a result of direct feedback from key stakeholders regarding the forecasted rain and track closure which will impact our ability to conduct a safe event for both runners and volunteers.

This decision is incredibly challenging for all of us and the committee share the disappointment and frustration that all entrants are experiencing while reading this announcement. The committee is working through options and logistics based upon this development in consultation with all key stakeholders for our race.

We are sure you all will have lots of questions about this decision. We will work on a detailed Q&A list to cover these points which we will publish as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone for your commitment and passion for our race, which we see every day, we ask for your patience as we work through the options and details required.
